Valkyria Chronicles 3 Psp
You sure made a postSeeing as the Valkyria Chronicles 2 LP is about to finish let’s wrap up the series with the final installement of the trilogy. Subtitled “the unrecorded chronicles” this game plays during VC1 so we get to see the good old war against the empire all over again but this time from a different point of view. We’re leading Squad 422, the Nameless, a penal squad consisting of military criminals and lawbreakers who’re sent on one suicide mission after the other (and I though the militia had a hard time). As the name suggests the members of this squad don’t use their real names (due to legal reasons mostly) and instead are addressed by their number.
This way we can do all sorts of illegal actions and if we fail then atleast Gallia can’t be blamed for our actions. It also leads to us being the heroes that don't get any credit for the work, since we don't exist on paper. These guys look actually more like prisoners than soldiers.I highly recommend checking out both my old as well as. You don’t need to know everything about both of those games but some minor knowledge about the main protagonists is going to help out a lot since most of the important characters from both games make some appearances in this game. You can also unlock the majority of the characters from the previous games as playable units if you have access to their DLC. This can lead to some hilarious moments such as Maximilian blowing up some imperial tanks. But then there's also those DLC missions that give you insane weapons which turn the entire game into a cakewalk. That said, I only have access to about 3 DLC missions so we're going to miss out on the majority of the DLC fun.Spoiler PolicyDon’t spoil anything that’s VC3 specific (except DLCs since I don’t have access to most of them sadly). If you want to discuss VC1 or 2 then sure go ahead. For those of you that really want to spoil themselves (or just want to know more about this game) there’s actually two OVAs available.Specifics about the LPBasically the same thing I did during my VC1 LP:-S-Ranking every mission-Unlocking every character fragment-Checking out all the available extra content ( only like 3 DLCs included in Extra Edition so it’s not that much Nevermind, got access to all the DLCs plus vibratingsheep who's providing us with the translations.
Big thanks once again! )-Since the game has alternate endings and two epilogues which can be unlocked by completing everything we’re also going to do that. This is going to be a long oneVideosEndingsPost-game content:EpiloguesDLCFragmentsBranching EventsChapter 7Chapter 8. You sure made a postThe NamelessNo. 07 Kurt IrvingPotentialsGenius: All combat stats are increased.Composed: Accuracy increases when under interception fireLikes Cooking: Defense increases when crouched behind sandbagsQuibbler: When selected, there is a chance to decrease defense.Kurt, being the main protagonist, is an awesome character. He has extremely high stats overall so he can be any class you want him to be and he’ll do just fine. His only real weakness is Quibbler: Lowered defense is horrible for the majority of all classes.
The only way to get rid of this horrible potential is to get to the end of the game, sadly.Specialization: Shocktrooper, SniperSpecial Ability: Direct CommandLet's you take up to 2 squad members with you on a magical journey to slaugther your enemies. They don't take any damage or use up their AP plus Kurt's AP is completely refilled.Only really good for moving multiple units with one CP to be honest.No. 01 ImcaPotentialsAloof: When away from other units, defense is increased.Malnutrition: Evasion lowers when AP falls to half or less.Country Bred: Fighting on earthy terrain increases accuracy and anti-infantry power.Imca is a freaking beast. While her potentials aren't that amazing (except her final potential) she has pretty good stats, especially and amazing amount of HP compared to most of the other lancers you have access to. However, she has hands down the best special attack/move/whatever the hell it's called which can obliterate tons of enemies in a single CP. Legend of the cryptids art book. Therefore it's extremely easy for her to master multiple classes which makes her the best candidate for a super potential.
However, she has the same problem as Kurt, since her final potential unlock extremely late in the gameSpecialization: Lancer, FencerNo. 03 Gloria DurrellPotentialsUnderworld Connections: Anti-personnel damage may be raised when Gloria is deployed at night.Big Sister: Gloria's accuracy and anti-personnel damage may be raised when nearby allied units.Bad Back: Squatting exacerbates back pain, leading to lowered defenses. That is one badass granny here.
She has insane accuracy and is among the top 3 lancers in the entire game. Also having two anti-personnel potentials is quite helpful, though hers are quite situational so I wouldn't rely on them all that much.Specialization: Lancer, GunnerNo. 6 GusurgPotentialsDarcsen Pride: When Darcsen units, ally or enemy, are nearby, accuracy, anti-armor damage, and defense may be boosted.Leadership: If three or more allied units are nearby, defense may be raised.Spicy Food Lover: Defense may be boosted when taking interception fire.Idealist: Anti-personnel and anti-armor damage may be lowered upon selection.Gusurg is an interesting character with an interesting set of potentials. Especially Darcsen Pride can either be awesome or it can ruin your entire mission due to some unnecessary buffs for the enemy. Later on Idealist gets replaced with another negative potential, which is slightly better. Still I tend to rarely use tanks since they can't gain any skill ranks.No.
11 Alfons AuclairPotentialsGentleman: Being near allies provides a boost in accuracy.Keen: Accuracy may be raised if selected during the first two turns of a battle.Self-Conscious: Taking interception fire may decrease evasion.Alfons is quite durable and evasive but his accuracy is far below average. If you're lucky you can trigger some of his positive potentials (all of them raise accuracy). If you don't want to rely on RNG then let him be either an Armored-Tech or Fencer since those two classes don't need accuracy.Specialization: Scout, Armored-TechNo. 12 Valerie AynsleyPotentialsComposure: Keeps a cool head when under interception fire, leading to a boost in accuracy.Girl Genius: Accuracy, evasion, defense, anti-personnel and anti-armor damage, and status resistance may be raised upon selection.Chatty Cathy: Being near units with good affinity may prove distracting, leading to a loss of accuracy.Inquisitiveness: Evasion may be lowered when Valerie spots enemy units.Valerie is quite a fragile character, though she gets a little bit more durable after her fragment. If you're afraid of losing her too easily she'll also do fine as a sniper since she has a pretty high accuracy stat.Specialization: Scout, EngineerNo. 13 Riela MarcellisPotentialsMaternal: Being near allied units raises Evasion.Hard Worker: There is a chance to restore HP after it has dropped below half the total points.Mysterious Body: Following an attack action, HP may be restored to full.Angel of Death: Defense and Accuracy may be lowered when under interception fire.Riela immediately starts off with two potentials that can heal her. If you really want to be a douchebag you can give her a battle potential that also heals her and then she should be immortal for the rest of the game.
She's supposed to be the Alicia of VC3, but she's not that overpowered since her special move is much weaker than Imca's. Riela is still a solid unit with overall great stats, though a little bit weak on the defensive. However, she has some problems with her final potential which is first bad and later on it gets even worse. Battlefield heroes register. However, at the end she's rewarded with having only positive potentials which is something Imca is lacking.Specialization: Scout, EngineerNo. 15 Amy ApplePotentialsResponsibility: Accuracy may be raised when Amy is nearby units with whom she shares a good affinity.Shorty: When taking interception fire, evasion may be boosted.Lonesome: Acting with no other allied units nearby may result in lowered evasion.Final PotentialFather's Face: When Amy is near Deit accuracy and evasion may be boosted.Amy is decent unit. Not awesome but as long as she's close to people, especially people she likes, she'll be performing quite well. Her Fragment has probably one of the cutest stories so she has atleast that going for her.Specialization: Scout, GunnerNo.
21 Felix CrowleyPotentialsDauntless: When near three or more enemies, accuracy and anti-armor damage are increased.Dependable: Being close to allied units increases evasion.Thick-Headed: Evasion is decreased when under interception fireFelix is pretty much the male version of Amy. Decent stats, likes to be close to people, even the enemy. Both of them fall off later in the game once you have better units available.Specialization: Shocktrooper, LancerNo. 23 Leila PeronPotentialsSadist: When initiating an attack, anti-personnel damage can be raised.Recalling Little Brother: If on dirt, grass, or sandy terrain, defense may be raised.Temper: Defense may be lowered when near three or more allied units.Final Potential World Dominatrix: Anti-personnel damage is raised when near allied units.Leila can be amazing, if you manage to trigger some of her potentials. Once you completed her fragment she has two anti-personnel potentials that tend to trigger fairly often thus she'll be able to deal an insane amount of damage. Outside of that she's not that good.
Valkyria Chronicles 3 was released in Japan on January 27, 2011, for the PlayStation Portable. It is (regrettably) not scheduled for release outside of Japan. It is (regrettably) not scheduled for.
While her stats aren't completely awful, there are simply better units available later in the game. Atleast she's more useful than Homer ever was (yeah, they're siblings!)No. 24 Annika AlcottPotentialsRespectful Eye: Evasion may be boosted when Annika is near units with whom she shares a good affinity.Veggie Maniac: Anti-personnel and anti-armor damage receive a boost if on dirt, grass, or sandy terrain.Miscalculation: Hastiness may cause decreased accuracy when entering Aim Mode.Reckless Charge: When taking interception fire, evasion may be lowered.- Replaced by True Strength: Defense and evasion may be boosted when taking interception fire.Oh Annika. She's quite durable, but that's pretty much it. With probably the lowest accuracy and evasion in the entire game she's really bad without any helpful trinkets.
As a Fencer she might see some use. Atleast her potentials are pretty good once you completed her Fragment that is.Specialization: Shocktrooper, FencerNo. 32 Giulio RossoPotentialsProcurement Expert: After attacking there is a chance to fully replenish all ammunition.Feeling: Accuracy, anti-personnel and anti-armor damage are raised when close by allies with which he has a good friendship.Bug Hater: Accuracy and evasion may be lowered when moving through grassy terrain.Cool guy, decent stats, decent potentials. He's not as amazing as other characters later on but the Procurement Expert might give him some usefulness as a Lancer or Sniper.Specialization: Lancer, EngineerNo. 33 Margit RavelliPotentialsStrong Willed: When taking interception fire, the damage dealt by it may be reduced to half.High Class Lady - Defense may be raised when moving across stone terrain.Lost: If no allied units are nearby, accuracy and evasion may be lowered.Panicky: Anti-personnel damage may be lowered when taking interception fire.Margit is among the top three lancers in the entire game.
She starts off super squishy, however once you replace Panicky with her true final potential she becomes an insane beast. She's probably my most favourite lancer, right after Imca.Specialization: Lancer, ScoutNo. 45 Serge LiebertPotentialsHidden Fighting Spirit - Defense may be raised after selection if Serge is in an area containing more enemies than allies.Soldier's Pride - Defense may be raised while under interception fire.Weak Constitution - When AP is less than half its total points, defense may be lowered.Without a Future - When AP is less than half its total points, accuracy may be lowered.- Replaced by: Ray of Light: When AP is less than half, accuracy and anti-personnel damage may be boosted.Serge is an awesome sniper. He has two defense raising potentials and an insane accuracy stat.
Especially once you completed his Fragment you really want him to be a sniper (story reasons)Specialization: Engineer, SniperNo. 46 Clarissa CallaghanPotentialsPure Heart: Accuracy may be raised when more than one allied unit is nearby.Equal Heart: When Clarissa is near non-Gallian allies, accuracy may be raised.Star-Crossed: Defense and evasion may be lowered when taking interception fire. His Shadow: Accuracy and evasion may be lowered.- Replaced by Unshaken Hope: When exiting Target Mode after attacking, Clarissa's HP may be restored.Clarissa is super squishy. Add a potential which reduces defense and she'll die almost instantly.
Might want to change her into an Armored-Tech so she gets a little more durable. Other than that, she's just an average character, who's also supposed to be the squad's nurse.Specialization: Engineer, Armored-TechNo. 56 DeitPotentialsAdept: Accuracy may be raised upon selectionDarcsen Pride: When fellow Darcsen units are nearby, accuracy, defense, and anti-armor damage are boosted.Pessimist: When AP falls below half, evasion may be decreased.Misanthrope: Anti-personnel damage may be decreased when near allied units.- Replaced by Sister's Face: Anti-personnel damage is boosted when near AmyDeit has pretty good accuracy. Due to his Darcsen Pride potential and the fact that we're going to fight quite a lot of Darcsens I recommend to change his class to Sniper, where he'll do a good job throughout the entire gameSpecialization: Armored-Tech, SniperNo.
57 Zahar AlonsoPotentialsUnprecedented: When HP is lowered below half its total points, anti-personnel damage may be boosted.Soldier's Pride: Defense may be raised when taking interception fire.Drunkard: When AP is below half its total points, control of Zahar may end immediately.Zahar is strange. If you look at his stats and the majority of his potentials, he's actually a pretty good unit. But then there's Drunkard.
Think of it as Klutz from the earlier Valkyria Chronicles titles. It can end his action once he spent half his AP. Eventhough it doesn't trigger all that often, it can leave him out in the open without achieving anything.
Therefore, he's either useable as a longe range unit or a base defender. Don't use him as a Scout!Specialization: Shocktrooper, GunnerNo. 58 Shin HyugaPotentialsThird-Eye: Accuracy and evasion may be boosted upon selection. My Own Way: When no allied units are nearby, evasion may be boosted.Born in a Foreign Land: Unfamiliar metal or stone terrain may cause a loss in concentration, lowering anti-personnel damage.Shin is the stereotypical Samurai. And as we all know Samurai are awesome.
Therefore Shin is awesome. End of Story! (There's still better units though!)Apepresident fucked around with this message at 21:56 on Aug 17, 2015May 12, 2015 16:03.Seraphic Neoman Jul 19, 2011That Warhammer 40k Greatsword/Assault Rifle thing is amazing. It's a bit sad that we're still fighting the Imperials. I haven't gotten too far into it yet, but just from his introductory scene alone, I'm liking Kurt Irving WAY more than Avan. You sure made a postUpdateout nowTime to smash some more imperials with our 5-man Dream Team! The second battle introduces us to some new mechanics that were added in Valkyria Chronicles 2, namely the multiple areas. Since the PSP isn't nearly as strong as the PS3 there was no way to develop the large maps we used to see in the original Valkyria Chronicles. Therefore the big maps got split up into multiple smaller ones which are then connected via specific camps on each area. Get one camp that's connecting Area A to Area B and you automatically get the second camp to call in units at the new Area. Later down the road this leads to some interesting ways to clear certain missions, since you can basically avoid hard enemies or get easy access for a powerful rear attack.During the story segment we witness some intrigue that's happening which leads to us joining the Nameless. Also the cutscene in which we first encounter the Nameless is sort of an important thing.
I think there's more explanation to what happened there later in a DLC or something so we also have that to look forward to.May 13, 2015 22:25.Ceebees Nov 2, 2011I'm intentionally being as verbose as possible in negotiations for my own amusement. Built by veterans of the first war who learned a thing or two from that war in designing and building it. The Edelweiss is pretty much a hybrid heavy/medium tank that has the firepower of the Empire heavies and the mobility of their mediums. Gallia pretty much just has light anti-infantry tanks like the Shamrock and medium tanks since they're small and can't really afford to build the heavy stuff compared to the empire.
That's the basis of why it's so effective. The rest is kudos to the mechanics, IE Isara's Father, Isara and the other two dudes who R&D upgrades for it.The rest of Squad 7's decisiveness (aside from being named protagonists) is Welkin's unorthodox strategy and the Squad's ability to pull it off combined with home turf morale/knowledge advantage. Granted that sort of falls off later in the game but I doubt anyone on both sides of the conflict would have had the idea to ford a major river with a caulked tank.May 14, 2015 09:09.Tarezax Sep 12, 2009. You sure made a postUpdateout now!At the end of the first chapter one we finally join the Nameless and in our last fight we get access to the other three main protagonists of Valkyria Chronicles 3: Imca, Riela and Gusurg. The battle this time around is basically there to let the player experiment with the new units they've got, especially with the lancer and the tank. Both of them got (atleast in my opinion) a huge buff in terms of accuracy since they're are able to score headshots at the beginning of the game which is simply insane. However, not everything went as planned.
I would've actually liked to get more kills with either one of my infantry units so they get some more skill points but in the end S-Ranking is still the priority. Now that that's out of the way we get treated to some nice anime cutscenes and an oldschool film telling us how the war is going.Speaking of class skill points I also added a list showing how many points you get for doing certain actions and also an estimate of how many points you need to unlock the the ELITE rank of each class. The VETERAN rank probably requires only half of what's needed for the ELITE upgrade, but I couldn't find any specific data for that one. I thought The Nameless were a secret squad.
Why does some nobody rookie know about them?Well, they are a secret to the public as well as the enemy. As seen in this episode, the Gallian army knows that The Nameless exist and they take credit for their work as long as it's beneficial for them. This is further showcased later in some of the fragments.May 14, 2015 21:40.Seraphic Neoman Jul 19, 2011Gotta say, Kurt's really taking this poo poo in stride.
He seems to be making the most out of his situation.May 14, 2015 23:43.Tuxedo Ted Apr 23, 2007. Quote: The base Edelweiss has the running gear of a Panzer III, and seems to have a turret inspired by the American M41 Walker Bulldog with the spare track holders and escape hatch of a King Tiger; the gun mounting is an exaggerated version of the T-55's, with a similar searchlight mounting to the right. The hull has the spare track holder of a Panzer IV, and a driver's vision block seemingly inspired by the Tiger I. The headlamps are based on the Bosch headlights of the Tigers; it has two on the front-upper hull like an early production Tiger, but also one in the middle of the glacis plate like a Tiger II.Still, its a game wiki quote, so take it with a grain of salt.May 15, 2015 00:01.Koorisch Mar 29, 2009Yeah, all you need to know is that all tanks in this series are a mish-mash of a whole bunch of different tanks from all sides.May 15, 2015 00:33.Apepresident Nov 9, 2014.
You sure made a postUpdateout now!Time to check out the second chapter of Valkyria Chronicles 3: Extra Edition. The second chapter is. Mainly because we need to recapture some Gallian city and while we're at it we also have to convince all the members of The Nameless to accept Kurt as their leader. How are we going to achieve that? Well, it's actually not as exciting as you might have hoped: We simply take one half of the remaining squad members with us beat a rather simple map with our new units and then they'll follow us (although some of them remain sceptic)You also unlock the Base Camp of The Nameless in chapter two where we can upgrade our units and their equipment. We also get access to a lot of extra information about the characters and the game's world in general, sadly the majority of this information wasn't translated so we're going to miss out on most of it.Since we were covering the top of battle potentials I added a link in the OP to a list of all the normal and high potentials plus I added the three super potentials and their requirements.May 15, 2015 21:16.EponymousMrYar Jan 4, 2015. This one's the closest I could find to what was mentioned. Not sure if that was what he meant though. It was strictly an in-game note in reply to someone wondering why the Edelweiss was more awesome than the Empire's standard line tanks despite being built in the previous war. But yes, the tanks in VC are roughly based on real tanks mashed together for visual teasing of tank nuts.Tanks are cool.

Man female leads get screwed post VC1. Riella gets bonuses as an engineerAs engineer and scout. Each character has 2 classes they get a bonus in.Also engineers are arguably more useful than in VC2 since your tank's main cannon has limited ammo, and if you're like me it will be doing a lot of firing to clear up enemy armor and fortifications. (Even if it's inefficient for XP, it's fun).May 16, 2015 02:22.cuntman.net Mar 1, 2013Engineers are more useful because they can revive people which is relavent because of how much easier it is to get people killedMay 16, 2015 02:30.Cake Attack Mar 26, 2010. Even though I have all three I've never gotten around to playing the second two, and certainly after watching the LP of VC2 I have no desire to play that one. I have no idea what they were thinking there. But this looks interesting-too bad it never got a release outside of Japan. The translation patch seems to have quite a lot of visual glitches, the text is quite often misaligned from the box it's supposed to be in, I wonder what was the issue there. Especially since it only happens sometimes.May 16, 2015 07:14.BioMe Aug 9, 2012. You sure made a postIt's time to check out one of the few we can access right now.Just as a heads up warning: This is not translated!
There are no english subtitles, everything is still like in the original japanese game. Well, everything besides the battle itself that is.So the story of this DLC seems to be about Kurt joining the Gallian army.
Judging by the reactions of the other people I guess that they don't want him to be their Lieutenant and that one General guy also seemed to be pissed about something, though I have no idea about what.Anyways there are basically two reasons you want to play through this piece of DLC:1. To grind EXP. I'd only do that if I'm really desperate for some extra points since there's a way to get ten times as much EXP. Still, this mission is super easy and offers more rewards than our current story missions.2. To get Hilde.
This amazing shocktrooper weapon is going to help us out during the next 7-8 chapters. If you have other DLC missions available you might be able to get even stronger weapons relatively soon but I think that this one is more than enough for the early game. The translation patch seems to have quite a lot of visual glitches, the text is quite often misaligned from the box it's supposed to be in, I wonder what was the issue there. Especially since it only happens sometimes. The translation patch causes all kinds of problems and text being wrong or not fitting inside the boxes is the least bit of trouble.
Some aces won't drop their weapons and sometimes you can't get your hard earned rewards for some missions. It's probably wise to always have the original japanese gamefile by your side, just in case.May 16, 2015 09:16.ivantod Mar 27, 2010Mahalo, fuckers. I assume it's not going to be fixed considering no updates on the translation project website since about 18 months. Oh well, probably we should be happy that even in this form the patch even exists-shouldn't complain too much about people who did this in their free time, maybe it was just a difficult game to patch.
A legitimate western release is certainly not happening at this point, I think that's pretty clear.May 16, 2015 10:16.BioMe Aug 9, 2012Does the game use its own font or the PSP's? It's really stupid too, almost every time there's a badly overflowing text box it takes like five seconds to figure out how they could have shortened the translation without losing any meaning. It's not that bad though, since the text is still easily readable and those bugs are hardly constant.
